GOING TO THE LORD IS THE NAME OF OUR PRAYER TIME FOR WESTERN MEADOWS. SINCE 2007 WE HAVE BEEN PRAYING AS A GROUP FOR ONE HOUR A WEEK FOR THE WORLD OF COWBOYS AND WESTERN WOMEN. It is named GOING TO THE LORD for we are going to the Lord, boldly approaching his throne, to ask Him to do great and mighty things in your world. We ask the Lord to give you everything you might need.
In accordance with God’s will we ask that He give you rest, peace, strength, guidance, companionship, protection, comfort, nourishment, honor, blessings, love, goodness, and eternal life.
The Bible tells us that we have not because we ask not. God’s Word tells us to seek and we will find, ask and we will receive.
James 4:2-3 says:
“Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
And even when you ask, you don’t get it
because your motives are all wrong—
you want only what will give YOU pleasure.”
We go to the Lord with repentant hearts, confessing all known sin, and asking God to give to you the world of cowboys the best that He has to give.
A well known story in the Bible is about Mary and Martha. Jesus had come to their home to eat. Martha was busy, very busy trying to see to all of the details of the dinner party. Mary sat at the feet of Jesus. Martha asked Jesus to rebuke Martha. However, Jesus looked and spoke to Martha, I am sure with great love and compassion, and said, “You are busy doing a lot of things, but Mary has found what is more important. I will not take it away from her.”
You see, there is a time to work and a time to worship God. Sadly, most of us spend too little time with Jesus. I seriously think this is the root problem of most women. We need to sit and enjoy God. We must receive His love for us. We must believe we have value in His eyes. We must believe He created us for a purpose. We must believe that Jesus came to earth, suffered and died so that we might have eternal life.
God the Father wants his daughters to enjoy their relationship with Him. It is good to be near God. It is good to sit at his feet, and enjoy his presence. We want each of you to enter into God’s rest, absorb His love for you, and feel his arms around you, comforting and encouraging.
We encourage you to grab your softest blanket, and sit in your most comfortable chair and join us. Your voice will be muted and you can just enjoy being in the presence of God.
