New Testament

Matthew 7:24-25

Jesus Is The Rock

In the book of Psalms there were over 150 verses that talked about God as our protector, fortress, refuge, or rock.  So, if God says it over and over and over and over this ‘option of Fortress’ should be a very big deal for us to learn.  We can find this principle throughout the Bible. In the New Testament Jesus is called the Rock of our salvation.

Anyone who listens to my teaching and obeys me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.

Though the rain comes in torrents and the flood-waters rise

and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse, because it is built on rock.

Matthew 7:24-25

We are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles, and the prophets.

And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.

We who believe are carefully joined together, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.

Ephesians 2:20-21

Come to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple.

He was rejected by the people, but he is precious to God who chose Him.

1 Peter 2:4

For no one can lay any other foundation than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:11
